Barbecue on a gas grill?
Posted in BBQ Tips and Tricks on the March 3, 2009
Hello My name is Ed, and I am from NY.
I enjoyed your videos and your information in regards to BBQ.
I really love Barbecuing, but the problem that i have is
that i really would love to get your Ebook, but I do not have a
SMoke Grill. 98% of everyone here, we have Gas Grills.
What can you recommend? Can this BBQ be done on Gas Grills.
So far, what i have seen is mostly Smoke Grilling. I have not seen any
Gas Grilling.
Please get back to me.
Thank you
Ed S.

Yes… it is possible to set up a gas grill for low and slow “offset”
smoking. Hopefully, you have a two burner setup – so just light one burner and put your meat on the other side (or front/back). For smoke, buy a steel smoke box anywhere they sell BBQ stuff. Or you can make a foil pack – basically some soaked wood chips in foil with holes poked in the top. The smoke box or foil pack should be placed directly over the heat. Then – just follow the directions in the book paying close attention to your cooking chamber temperature. If done correctly, you may actually produce better BBQ than a lot of traditional smokers because your cooking temperature will be steady and you will not have to maintain a wood or charcoal fire.
