I have a wild cherry tree in my backyard; can you use it for smoking?
It’s not a fruit producing tree of any sort.

I rarely hear anyone mention wood from a plum tree. Do you know if this wood is OK for smoking brisket?

Plum wood should be OK – use it like any other fruitwood.
