Hi all,

Smoke on the Water at Winter Haven, FL, has come and gone. Police estimated the crowd at over 23,000 and hopefully a lot of money was raised for the Citrus Boy and Girls Clubs. In three weeks we do Ribs on the Ridge at Haines City, FL.

We had a young man working with us. Bryan is the same age as Daniel and about 2 inches taller!! His father calls him Bear. He had to stoop over to be able to stand in the trailer. We met him a couple of weeks ago at Dundee and we were mentoring him in BBQ. He did a nice job and will join us again in Haines City, then he is on his own!!

Oh yeah, you probably want to know the results. We missed by 0.18 points of capturing the Grand Championship in the Backyard Division and ended up with Reserve Grand. We won Chicken using grandson Daniel’s chicken rub and Chatham Artillery Special Sauce.  We also won Brisket. Lots of leftover food for our Super Bowl party.
